Materials: any worsted weight yarn
Needles used were size 8, but any size is acceptable
Size and Gauge: Varies per person

CO 10 (I used long tail cast on)

ROW 1 and all odd rows- Knit across
ROW 2- KFB, K8, KFB (12)
ROW 4- KFB, K10, KFB (14)
ROW 6- KFB, K12, KFB (16)
ROW 8- KFB, K14, KFB (18)
ROW 10- KFB, K16, KFB (20)
ROW 12, 14, 16, 18, 20- Knit across
ROW 22- K2TOG, K16, K2TOG (18)
ROW 24- K2TOG, K14, K2TOG (16)
ROW 26- K2TOG, K12, K2TOG (14)
ROW 28- K2TOG, K10, K2TOG (12)
ROW 30- K2TOG, K8, K2TOG (10)

Repeat rows 1-30 until scarf is desired length

For a fun variation try making a rainbow of colors changing colors every time you repeat the pattern, you could sew on eyes for a caterpillar or worm design. A good way to use up some left over scraps of yarn.

  5. Love all your patterns..only problem is: wasted ink & paper on dialogue before pattern is printed!
Being elderly & on low income, that's why I get free patterns here! Ink costs so much & paper too! Thanks for sharing, but isn't there a way to get just the patterns after reading blog???
    Thanks again, GreatGrammie of 16!!

  6. Ruthie, I don't have an email to reply to you directly but what I do to print out is I copy only the pattern lines to a word document and print from there. I am not sure how to make it simpler, I would love to figure out how to switch them all to a PDF with photos etc on one page and the directions on another but I am not sure how to do that yet, so in meantime copy and paste. :-)
